KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test, commission and implement)

  • Design / Check systems and components that meet needs and requirements of the Plants

  • Produce outline designs and make observations regarding design suitability

  • Conduct and analyse methodically, data related to the plant design and interpret results

  • Test and evaluate theoretical designs provided by consultants

  • Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems

  • Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety

  • In conjunction with senior engineers, alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions

  • Estimate budget and scope of project

  • Solicit observations from other operations and plants

  • Prepare product reports and documentation

  • Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods

  • Identifies maintenance and engineering risks and manages or escalates them as appropriate

  • Assist with the development, implementation and upkeep of SOP’s (Safe Operating procedures)

  • Liaise and interact with service providers, equipment and spares vendors for the acquisition, realisation and management of services, equipment, spare parts and materials

  • Assist and at time lead the commissioning of the plants


You will also have the following SASA responsibilities (but not limited to):


  • Following and acting in accordance with the policies, procedures and requirements from the corporate level

  • Following and participating in the implementation of international standards in accordance with requirements and decisions at the corporate level

  • Following legal and best practice requirements in the field of maintenance and engineering and acting exclusively in accordance with them

  • Assist with the development and implementation of safety standards and actively promote adherence to the mine safety standards

  • Directly oversee and monitor mechanical work standards, methods and procedures

  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with the key stakeholders

  • Plan and coordinate the spares and materials requirements for the maintenance department

  • Liaise and interact with the maintenance planning team and warehouse personnel for the acquisition and management of spare parts and materials

  • Actively work toward reducing costs, minimizing waste and promoting efficiency in the maintenance department

  • Responsible for issuing and overseeing the effective completion of weekly, monthly, shutdown and other maintenance plans as required at the SASA Mine

  • Actively contribute to the formation of maintenance plans and schedules

  • Participation in maintenance and production meetings as required at the SASA mine

  • Contribute to the development of maintenance strategies, guidelines, instructions and procedures for maintenance and inspection activities

  • Participate in and conduct training for maintenance processes, procedures and practices as required

  • Meeting the general requirements of ISO 14001 standard, its operation, maintenance and continuous improvement

  • To respect the Sustainability Policy of Central Asia Metals (CAML) and its subsidiaries

  • Performs other activities within their professional training – qualifications and skill set as required by order of the Maintenance Manager, work tasks in the interest of safety and production, including work tasks arising from the requirements at the corporate level

  • Although primarily a dayshift, Monday to Friday position the employee will be required to work on shifts, weekends and overtime as dictated by the needs of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


  • BSc – in a mechanical engineering is essential (MSc Degree preferable)

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in the field of mechanical maintenance

  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is highly desirable

  • Qualifications in the field of maintenance management would be highly regarded

  • High level of computer literacy – excellent skills in the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), AutoCAD, ProE or and other related programs

  • Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA) and knowledge of hi pressure pumping

  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAM)

  • Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD other)

  • Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.

  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact at all levels with the mine, maintenance and management teams

  • Previous work experience in mining or other heavy industries is essential

  • English language skills are desirable
