KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Life-of-Mine Planning and Reserves:
Preparing long term designs, schedules and sensitivity analysis
Calculating Cut Off Grade (COG) and Net Smelter Return (NSR) Cut-Offs
Estimating long term equipment requirements
Preparing financial models
Coordinating with various stakeholders on strategic timelines (permits, licenses etc)
Preparing technical reports and presentations
Collaborating with Technical Services, Mining, Processing and Finance departments to determine optimal production and costing assumptions for annual budget planning
Working with Technical Services to prepare annual Mining & Processing physicals
Identifying risks & opportunities and preparing relevant analysis
Transition and other Capital Projects, including but not limited to:
Liaising with the Technical Services team regarding scheduling, commissioning and integrating the Backfill Plant and underground reticulation system within existing operations
Developing practical solutions for the optimal extraction of Mineral Resources with the use and implementation of multiple mining methods (eg. Sub Level Caving, Cut & Fill and Long Hole Stoping)
Assisting the Maintenance department with development of engineering designs and plans for underground pumping and reticulation systems
Involvement and leadership as required to deliver Cut & Fill change management
Support development of a Backfill Management Plan
Support Mining and Technical Services teams to ensure safe execution of the 910 level cave void filling project
Assist with drill and blast, ventilation and other operational improvement projects
Review suitability of UG equipment electrification options
Review suitability of UG crushing, screening and ore sorting options
Provide Deswik training to Sasa Mining Engineers, supporting implementation of Monthly and Weekly planning

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science/Engineering with relevant industry experience
7-10+ years in underground mining, preferably with exposure to capital projects
Strong mine design and planning experience
Production engineering experience including having been responsible for production reporting, drill and blast, ventilation and short to medium term planning
Highly competent Deswik CAD, SCHED, IS and SO user
Previous expatriate experience preferred
Demonstrated communication skills, including an ability to build relationships with both internal stakeholders and external consultancies
Possesses a high understanding of project management, project development, and engineering work methodology
Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and an ability to problem-solve
Demonstrated commercial insight, strategic thinking, and business acumen
Proven ability to effectively present and communicate key technical, financial, safety, environmental and social matters to the board and other stakeholders
Have proven experience in the development and management of mine operations
Demonstrated track record of establishing and maintaining safe work environments and fostering a strong safety culture
Experience and knowledge to ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and associated permits
Ability to assist with budgeting, set priorities, meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy, and to develop, support, and promote safety, environmental awareness and grow the technical talent of direct reports
Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong time management skill
SOFTWARE:
Strong Deswik CAD, Scheduler (SCHED), Integrated Scheduler (IS) and Stope Optimiser (SO) user with proven experience in mine design and planning of underground mines
Strong Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Teams)
